3500 BC - Wheel Invented in Sumer & Copper Age begins
3200 BC - Sumerians develop a system of writing (Cuneiform)
3100 BC - Approximate discovery of Tin.
3000 BC - Bronze Age begins (combination of 90% copper and 10% tin)
2340 BC - Sargon (Akkadian) conquers Mesopotamia. Creates 1st empire.
1790 BC - Hammurabi (Babylonian) introduces law code.
1100 BC - Age of Iron begins, discovered by Hittites.
900 BC - Assyrians control Mesopotamia
744 BC - Assyria expands into Babylon.
627 BC - Nabopolassar (Chaldean) rebels against Syria.
612 BC - Chaldeans capture Assyrian capital (Nineveh).
600 BC - Hanging Gardens of Babylon completed by Nebuchadnezzar for his wife.
539 BC - Persians conquer Chaldeans
290 BC - Sumerians invent the Sundial.
The Reigns of Kings - Using a different color for each king draw a line on the timeline to represent the time each king ruled.
2334 BC - 2279 BC Rule of Sargon (Akkadian).
1792 BC - 1750 BC Rule of Hammurabi (Babylonian).
658 BC - 605 BC Rule of Nabopolassar (Chaldean).
605 BC - 562 BC Rule of Nebuchadnezzar (Chaldean).
Don't forget to draw or get some pictures to attach to the timeline. The following are some suggestions: Sumerian wheel, copper weapons or tools from Mesopotamia, bronze weapons, tools, or art from Mesopotamia, the Hanging Gardens, a Ziggurat, pictures of the kings, stone with Hammurabi's law code, clay tablet with cuneiform writing, and or Mesopotamian sundial.

Directions: Measure every 3 inches on time line, each mark represents 200 years. At the right the time line starts with 200 AD, and moving left jumps to 0, then 200 BC, then 400 BC . . . and so on to 1400 BC. An inch below the main time line draw a 6 inch secondary, horizontal line measured every three inches. Starting at the right of this short line with 1400 BC, then 1600 BC, and finally 1800 BC. Then plot the events below and label time line with event and year the event took place. DON'T FORGET THREE PICTURES!

930 BC - 12 Tribes split; 10 in North create Israel, 2 in South create Judah
722 BC - Assyrians conquer Israel and scatter the 10 tribes of Israel (become the lost tribes).
620 BC - Egyptians conquer Judah
605 BC - Chaldeans conquer Egypt
597 BC - Nebuchadnezzar of the Chaldeans captures Jerusalem
586 BC - Jews revolt against Chaldeans. Chaldeans crush revolt and destroy temple. Jews forced to move to Babylon (Begins Babylonian Captivity).
538 BC - Jews allowed to return to Judah by Persian King Cyrus
516 BC - Solomon's Temple rebuilt
334 BC - Alexander the Great begins building his empire.
331 BC - Alexander defeats Persians, Introduces Greek language to Jews
168 BC - Greek Antiochus forces Jews to worship Greek gods, Maccabeus leads a revolt and wins
167 BC - Solomon's Temple rededicated to God and cleansed.
63 BC - Romans conquer Judah
37 - 4 BC - King Herod rules and makes Solomon's Temple Awe Inspiring)
66 AD - Jews known as Zealots revolt against the Romans
70 AD - Romans recapture Judah
132 AD - Simon Bar Kochba leads and wins a revolt against the Romans
135 AD - Romans recapture Judah again, force Jews to leave and destroy Solomon's Temple leaving only the Western Wall standing, rename Judah Palestine after the Philistines.
